The challenges and changes the XXI century educators face nowadays, make necessary a continuos reflection and analysis of their teaching performance in the classroom . It seems then, that this is the perfect moment to redefine not only our practices but also the future of our profession by setting realistic objectives and defining the actions to follow in order to become successful and goal-oriented professionals .
Language Learning by Design, was the name proposed by Mrs. Karen Wigby- Nieto, a well- known American educator, who has lived in Ecuador for several years. We share the same belief of hundreds of educators that any transformation will start with continuous professional development and careful planning and design of authentic objectives that will allow enrich and enjoy the teaching - learning process.
It is our hope that focusing attention on all the aspects of curriculum design, Ecuadorian English Teachers will develop the skills and strategies our students need in their process of being immerse in a competitive and globalized society.
